Foundations for Success Report shows that increased support services for students led to a 6.4 % increase in student retention!

The Foundations for Success (FFS) pilot project is sponsored by the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation and launched in partnership with Confederation, Mohawk and Seneca Colleges. This research initiative aims to test whether or not offering case manager-mediated support services that are a combination of academic support, career clarification, mentoring and financial incentives would increase the likelihood that students (who have been deemed to be at risk of dropping out of college) would persist and successfully complete their studies.

What's being asked?

The two primary questions being tested are:

  1. Do case manager-mediated support services increase the likelihood that a student will complete their program?
  2. Do financial incentives, in combination with these other support services, increase the probability of program completion?
